My first thread painting is now complete! [insert sigh of relief] I’m super excited. Fives days of work on a small project. Measures approx 17 x 11 inches finished. My first all thread painting piece. Began with a base white fabric, made my quilt sandwich and used 20+ embroidery threads to paint with stitches and make the image come to life. You can see (more…)
February is the month of LOVE. This is a small piece I created in 2016 for something cute and fund and I was trying out some dyes I have for a small Sizzix. I love the colors. Happy February everyone!
On the Farm was designed and made by Mindy Jacobs © 2016. This is the first window pane quilt I made. This is a wall hanging I made from a quilt panel that I cut into sections to give the appearance of looking through an old farm-house window. I used two different wood panel printed fabrics for the window panes and added a red border to the outside. I used a golden wheat fabric for the backing and stitched in the ditch for quilting except for the border. I added a little flourish detail in the border quilting.
This has been one of my favorite and most popular quilts to date. I’ve sold a few remakes of this and my Mother has the original hanging in her living room. It was also showcased on 24 Blocks Facebook page receiving over 8,000 likes and nearly 1,500 shares.
